Later occupied by Visigoths and Muslims, it was reconquered by the first King of Portugal, D. Afonso Henriques, in 1148. Its walls also reveal some marks of the ancient peoples who settled here, right at the top of the hill, where you can see the \u00d3bidos lagoon on one side and the Usseira Aqueduct on the other.\nThe right street of \u00d3bidos takes us from the Porta da Vila to the Castle. The buildings we find preserve the identity of \u00d3bidos, considered one of the best preserved medieval villages in the world. The different colours of the houses in the village of \u00d3bidos are yellow, blue, red and grey.\nThis is where it all happens.
